Concrete is Complete!

The final concrete work was completed this week. We hired assistance for this pour. The team came in and poured the slab of concrete in the trash enclosure, the handicapped accessible ramp and the walkway up to the staff entrance. The cement is all perfect, and the back of the building is really beginning to take shape.

Many of the walls throughout the building will be finished with chair rail and molding. Since the framing is all done with steel, we had to complete a large amount of blocking around the door frames, a few interior window openings and for our finish work. In the pictures you will notice pieces of wood mixed in with the steel framing … this is the blocking.

Second Floor Transformation

The upstairs floor was far from level. In fact, there were spots with over 2 inches variation within a few feet of each other. Structurally, all of these variations have been corrected. However, we want the floor to be level. This meant a lot of time shimming, blocking and measuring. With the supports level, the subfloor went down to reveal a beautiful level new floor for the upstairs.

The remaining new windows have been installed throughout the upstairs, new doors were hung and the framing around the atrium was complete. The upstairs is turning into an incredible space.

Foam Insulation

With the front rock work complete, we brought in polyurethane foam to seal up the front of the building. The foam provides insulation and moisture barrier from the exterior rock. The foam will be shaved and cleaned up prior to finish.
