Store-front window framing

Framing of the store-front is now complete and you can get a sense of what the front of the building is going to look like. The new windows will be much closer to original with the large transom windows on top. All of the glass in the front will ensure that there is plenty of natural light. Now the trim is being stained and finished and then measurements will be taken for the new glass. The new glass should be installed in the next couple of weeks.

Also, more of the framing has been completed including the curved wall behind the reception desk. The steel canopy in the pictures will hang above the reception area and will be cantilevered on the curved wall.

The Entry is Changing

The entrance to our building will make a statement. Now that the hole in the second floor is closer to being finished, the atrium is beginning to take shape. We are now able to imagine what it will look like to walk in the front door of the practice, which will showcase 25 feet ceilings with salvaged original tin and a steel decorative crown structure.

New Bathroom

As mentioned in previous blog entries, we have added a new bathroom onto the back of the building. The structure will be finished with brick from the inside staircase, which was removed. The brick went through a careful and extensive demolition and cleaning process. We wanted to reuse as many materials as possible to preserve historical elements of the building. The pictures attached show the scaffolding and stacks of brick ready for the mason team to start.

Exterior Transformation

The stone work is complete, the new west door has been added and the staircase has officially been moved. We are very excited with the finished stone work. The front of the building began to transform with this step complete. The west door and staircase to the second floor created a drastic difference in the interior floor plan.
